Frequently Asked Questions How do I locate a particular book? All of the information about the location of the library's books is stored on computer. You can search directly from the "Quick Catalog Search" to the left of this screen, or click on the "Online Catalog" link at the top of the page. The search box in the online catalog looks like the following, and is similar in format to the quick search on this page:
You can choose what you want to search by the drop down box (where the arrow is pointing). Then type in what you are searching for in the outlined box. You can choose to search other libraries in our shared catalog by using the dropdown that says "Cherry Valley Library". Once you enter what you are searching for and click "Submit", you will probably be shown a list of titles. We have a lot of things in different formats, so look for the format picture toward the right of the titles list. Once you have chosen the title and format that you want, you will see a screen similar to this:
This shows that Jane Eyre (in book form) is located in the Adult Fiction section with the call number "F BRO" and both of our copies are on the shelf. If you need help finding a particular section of the library, please ask a staff person. |
