Ages 5 to 10 - Winnebago County Soil and Water Conversation District presents: Prairies. Prairies were once the dominant landscape in Illinois. Now they are very rare. We will present awareness of the wonders of prairies with discussion of prairie soil, prairie grasses, prairie forbs, plant rooting depths, and organic matter.
